Talk:Ross-shire

I object to this move. Ross is indeed an general geographical area, and I've no objection to an article on Ross (area), however, Ross-shire is the specific term for an historical entity that deserves its own article, particularly as it isn't described in detail anywhere else. County

I am confused by this article as it says 'former' county. Yet my official postal address is still Ross-shire. The Royal Mail may recognise the name Ross-shire as a postal address, but the county of that name was abolished by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889. Also, there is no Highlands and Islands council. There is the Highland Council and three separate councils covering neighbouring islands areas.

Content forking

Wikipedia:Content forking: the landscape section of this aricle overlaps totally with Ross, Scotland, and is also repeated at Ross and Cromarty. I propose to move anything that isn't about the existince of Ross-shire in administration/local government over to Ross, Scotland, with appropiate links to ensure that this artice is found by those who arrive here.
