Article needs expanded

It would be great if we could get some help expanding this article. It should be similar to other database articles like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, IBM DB2, Microsoft Access, etc. -charleca (talk) 18:09, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

UniData from Pick citation?

Can anyone find a reliable source that says UniData is a derivative of Pick? I found one for UniVerse, but cannot find one for UniData. -charleca (talk) 15:52, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Expanded Records

I have expanded the one-paragraph subsection on Records to five or six paragraphs. Please review and tell me what to change. I'm particularly concerned about the last sentence.

I have references on all of this but I want to be sure the content is OK before I bother about refs. (BTW, is an out-of-print book a "reliable reference"?) I would also appreciate exactly which facts require references. RoyGoldsmith (talk) 11:48, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Hash Table

I don't know who wrote the section on the hashing algorithm. Pick/U2 does not use a hash table to store group locations. Each file has a pointer, the group of the record id is calculated on-the-fly, and then the group number thus found, is added to the file pointer to jump directly to the start of the group frame. There is no need for a table of the group locations at all. So I removed that remark.Wjhonson (talk) 20:10, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
