They had no seat change, I don't understand why you put them in the infobox as having a seat change hence why I said a source was needed. Lord Beesus (talk) 13:17, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Griffith Mayor Infobox

edit

Half the LGAs on the 2021 and 2024 pages don't have infoboxes either, I don't see how that's a reason not to have one for the Griffith Mayor Lord Beesus (talk) 13:20, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Can I preface this by saying I don't mean to come off rude with some of the reverts, I genuinely do appreciate you creating this page
AFP infobox? No contest from me, fair enough and I get what you mean
The 2024 council results almost all do have infoboxes and the ones that don't are meant to have them, the ones for 2021 are being applied retrospectively - it's the mayoral elections specifically that don't have any in 2021 and 2024 hence the lack of it here Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 13:23, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Firstly, thank you for your appreciation, and I'll admit I probably got a little carried away with the reverts. Let's work together not against each other from here on out :)
I think that an infobox would be beneficial to those pages too and I'd be happy to add one to those pages, unless there was another reason you would object to the presence of an infobox? Lord Beesus (talk) 13:33, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

100%
Look on principle (if that's the right term) I think the mayoral elections would look good with an infobox, however the concern I have is that they may be too large - as in they would extend past the results box, into the next section, and by the time you get to Wollongong it's all out of synch and really ugly...if that makes sense? Yeah I get that. Messing around in the editing page I found a couple possible solutions.
1. What if we put the mayoral election above the councilor election? This would make them fit since the councilor results table is much longer than the mayoral one, leaving more space for the infobox to be displaced without poking into the next section.
2. We could just put both infoboxes before the subsections, this way the mayor box isn't forced right to the bottom where it sticks out. Lord Beesus (talk) 13:51, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Both ideas are interesting, to be honest my ideal would be something like the infobox for the 2024 Sydney City Council election...however the problems I see with that is:
1. Obviously most councils don't have mayoral races and tbh I would prefer consistency in all LGAs on the "results in [region]" pages
2a. This would mean needing to include the mayoral results section on the normal "results in [region]" pages. Currently they aren't and they are instead (IMO appropriately) on the 2021 New South Wales mayoral elections, 2024 New South Wales mayoral elections pages etc.
2b. The problem with that is that for a larger region like Greater Sydney, I am almost certain it would make the page waaaaaaaaaay too big to work properly, which I've seen from experience (and is just annoying tbh)
3. What if the infoboxes were included instead on the 2021 New South Wales mayoral elections, 2024 New South Wales mayoral elections etc pages...but also each section included a few lines about candidates, background which would essentially pad it out and prevent the mayoral box sticking out?
