Naming:- The name Renault 12Fe is used by this article and in contemporary publications. Renault 12Fe is by far the most common rendering in books, magazine articles and other Wiki articles (a lot of redline got removed when this went to mainspace!). There are also slight variations like Renault 12-Fe. It is notable the 12Fe is the first Renault aero engine to be identified with this naming format in Angle’s 1921 aircraft encyclopaedia (previous engines are shown by nominal horsepower rating). In 1923 Breguet referred to the engine as the "Renault 12 Fe 300 CV”.

Turbocharging:- Reliable sources say that August Rateau fitted turbochargers to this engine in 1918 and other sources say that August Rateau was the first to fit a turbocharger to an aircraft engine. Unfortunately, I don't have a good quality cite that says that the Renaut 12Fe was the world's first turbocharged aircraft engine. If anybody has a good quality source for this, please let me know.
