Talk:Referral marketing

I'm not quite sure where this is going. There are many definitions of referral marketing. I don't think the latest version covers all the definitions.

Referral marketing is not solely about it being a form of "internet marketing." That is an untrue statement here. Referral marketing is word of mouth related, and you could aruge that it can be found more prevalently offline than online.

Note: restored unsigned comment and much earlier unsigned comment that it overwrote. Neither is mine. --16:35, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

This article is a joke edit

Approximately 80% of companies obtain 70% of their business through word of mouth from satisfied customers and contacts.

Strategy: There are approximately 105 referral marketing strategies under 10 main headings

It is entirely meaningless. Yahivin (talk) 18:12, 26 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Moved from article to talk page edit

A reviewer removed improvements related to this article because he felt it was not neutral. The same reviewer removed similar references as a conflict of interest. The article and citations are neutral--in fact more neutral than the original/current article which has media bias. Nevertheless, it may violate conflict of Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy that implies that anyone who specializes in a topic may have a conflict of interest. This policy, therefore, recommends moving content with potential conflicts of interest to the talk page--which now follows. To see the removed article, please review the September 28 revision of the referral marketing article (as distinct from this discussion). The reference, originally published in MarketingProfs, provides additional detail about steps for executing a referral marketing program.

  • I've updated the link, it should work now. I've also removed the old outdated comments.

Restoration of talk page edit

Old talk page discussions are generally kept for the record; if the page gets too long, they can be moved into an archive file. Deletion of comments, particularly those of others, is not appropriate. I've restored the deleted discussions. --Nat Gertler (talk) 13:58, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
