How does this page relate to the section arithmetic with fractions at Fraction (mathematics)? That seems to be a more complete treatment of the subject. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 03:57, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hadn't looked that closely at Fraction (mathematics). That's a nice page. Maybe we should just redirect? --Jake 05:08, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

At the moment, this page seems to be a straight copy of the Arithmetic section from rational number. Why do we need a separate page for this ? Should just be a redirect to either rational number or fraction (mathematics). Gandalf61 10:18, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rational number is a more logical target, so I redirected this page there. However, fraction (mathematics) has a better explanation of how to add and multiply fractions, so perhaps some of that can be used to improve the rational number page. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 12:45, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think fraction has a much better treatment and when you actually try to talk about how arithmetic is done with rationals it is really all about fractions. So I switched the redirect there. Thatnks Jitse for point that page out to me. ---Jake 22:12, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
