I don't think this article contains sufficient detail about Singh's career to meet the GA criteria, and in fact is a long way off meeting criteria #3. It jumps 26 years of his life from him being commissioned in 1921 to the 1947 war. On that basis I am leaning towards quick-failing this nom. I'm happy to give you a week to rectify this, at which point if it still doesn't meet criteria #3 I will make some notes about possible improvements then fail it. I couldn't find anything substantive detailing his initial career. If there is anything out there, it isn't easily available online. It is ok if you fail it. I am withdrawing it too on the basis of the points you raised. I will keep criteria #3 in mind for the future. DTM (talk) 05:43, 25 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Really? That seems unlikely given his prominence. Have you looked at Chakravorty, B. (1995). Stories of Heroism: PVC & MVC Winners by Allied Publishers? Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 06:57, 25 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

So I went through the source you mentioned carefully. Regarding the Brigadier, there is only one page available in the preview (pg 288) and there is no eBook of the same (the eBook links to only vol 1 of the same series while the book in question is vol 2). But the little that is mentioned about his initial life is outright confusing and contradictory to the main source currently being used in the article, a Tribine aritcle.

  1. Stories of Heroism writes that his father is Harnam Singh while Tribune says it is Lakha Singh
  2. Stories of Heroism writes that Brigadier Rajinder Singh was born on October 25, 1928 while Tribune writes June 14, 1899.

Now just to make sure, both the book and the article are talking about the same person, no mistake in that. It seems like an official Government of India publication, Stories of Heroism, would get the facts correct. But going by these news articles of the celebration of his birth anniversary (link 1, link 2) and death anniversary (link), the year of his birth is 1899 and death 1947, what the Tribune article says. Even the stamp in the infobox says 1889 — 1947. Also, there is no mention of his initial years in the army in Stories of Heroism, before he became Chief of Staff of the Jammu and Kashmir state forces or a Major General.
What you wrote above- Really? That seems unlikely given his prominence. I am surprised too. There are plentiful accounts of his valour in the October of 1947 when he died fighting, but before that, nearly zilch. I am stumbling upon a minor point or two here and there, but even those are related to his last stand and not his early years in the military; will add bit by bit, but I am becoming more and more certain now his detailed history isn't available (online). I suggest asking for a scan of the book pages at WP:RSX to be sure there isn't any more. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:16, 27 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Actually, forget that, I've managed to take a look at the relevant pages, and there is nothing. I am starting to be concerned about whether there is even enough for an article on this fellow per WP:1E, as everything seems to be about the MVC action, and there doesn't seem to be "significant coverage" of his whole life in reliable sources. I mean, we are missing 26 years of his life and all of his army career except four days. It certainly can't be a GA due to failing to meet criteria #3, so I am going to quick-fail it. Good luck with finding more material on him. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:29, 27 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
