American influence

edit

The 1965 British law was similar to a number of American laws, starting in 1957. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.97.194.200 (talk) 16:17, 30 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

The 1965 United Kingdom Act is similar in its "anti discrimination" position to the 1964 American Civil Rights Act, but it also includes criminalising "incitement to racial hatred" - such a provision would be forbidden in the United States as it would be against the First Amendment (Freedom of Speech) of the Constitution of the United States.2A02:C7C:E085:8D00:C55C:95CE:1DD0:8135 (talk) 15:15, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
