Redirecting edit
This should be redirected to the disambiguation page Queen's College. Whether or not the punctuation is included in the search, some people may not immediately realize that Queen's College in Guyana needs to be written in the possessive. Please discuss the situation here rather than continually reverting. I have, for the time being, added a dablink at the top of the target to send people to the dab. I'm not really interested in the target of this redirect, but it appears that I edited the page once 1.5 years ago, so one of the IP editors decided to alert me to the situation. At the time, I left the edit summary (out of ~80 links, i found only 2 not intended for the new york school, and one was a typo. the only target without an apostrope is the new york school.) If there is any reason to think that this isn't, thus, the primary topic, or that a dablink at the top of the New York school's page is insufficient, please discuss that here. - I'm sorry for my part in this, but I would like to see it resolved constructively. I found this redirected to the NYC Queens College while I was looking for information on Queen's College, Guyana and it took more time than I would have liked to realize that my problem was the fact that I had searched for Queens rather than Queen's. I redirected it because I thought that Queens College was too general a term when there are several other schools that start with that name (regardless of punctuation).
- That said, I would be fine if there was a disambiguation link at the top of the NYC school because that would have also gotten me to the information that I needed. Yesterday when I tried posting one myself the IP editor removed it calling it spam without discussing the situation. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Hewinsj (talk) 15:08, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- Well, there is now a disambig link at the top of the NYC school, so if you're satisfied with that, then everything seems to be ok. If there is still someone who strongly feels it should be retargeted, and it can't be resolved here, then it should be taken to WP:RFD.--Aervanath (talk) 17:49, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
ok this is fine with me. that hewinj kept undoing my redirect to queensx college city u of new york so i undid the other one too because theres no point to haveing a note at the top if hewinj wont let it direct to queens college city u of new york.
