Good work overall. I won't use one of those fancy templates at the moment, but here are some comments:

  • The Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (abbreviated QPF) is the expected amount of melted precipitation accumulated over a specified time period over a specified area. - Here, "Quantitative Precipitation Forecast" is capitalized, but it's lowercase in the title. Which is correct?
  • Starting in the mid to late 1990's, QPFs were used within hydrologic forecast models to simulate impact of rainfall on river stages. - I believe it should be "1990s", without the apostrophe, but I'm not certain.
  • The prose is fairly good; it could use some tweaking, but it's sufficient for GA.
  • The references are my only major concern.
    • Add publication years/dates.
    • Try to avoid all-cap titles, per the MoS.
    • Most of the references are currently lacking publisher information.
  • Regarding the previous comments on the article's talk page, the meteorological terms seem perfectly clear to me. Granted, I've been familiar with the weather for years, so I might not be the best person to ask. :)

For now, I'm putting the article on hold. Most of the issues are fairly minor, and should be easy to address. Cheers, –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 01:14, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm still trying to get used to adding pub information within the refs...Dana has been on my case about that during the last few articles she's led me through. Will make the changes tomorrow (8th). Thegreatdr (talk) 04:50, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
The issues should now be taken care of. Thegreatdr (talk) 14:16, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Looks good, thanks for the quick reply. I have one remaining concern: the article, specifically the Entities which generate rainfall forecasts section, seems too focused on the U.S. Is there a way to resolve that? As soon as this is fixed/explained, I'll pass the article. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 15:22, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
After a bit more digging, I found something for Australia and Hong Kong. Having the extra sections counters US-centered POV. Thegreatdr (talk) 21:55, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Much better. You have another GA. :) –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 18:51, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
