From the article: f(X) has regions of low slope (|df/dX| small) and regions of high slope (|df/dX| large)

In the body text this formula is hard to read, and therefore unnecessarily confusing. The vertical bars representing absolute value look exactly like lower-case letter L, so it looks like ldf (L-D-F) and dXl (D-X-L), forcing the reader to look carefully to figure it out. Can we say instead: "(the absolute value of df/dX is small)" and "(the absolute value of df/dX is large)" ? Omc (talk) 19:47, 6 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
