This article appears to be identical in its subject with the article on Pseudo-Isidore and the article on False Decretals while only the sources appear to be different. Why not merge all three articles into one? -tlatosmd, June 21st 2005, 9:20pm CET
I'm sorry for kinda spamming this suggestion on all three article discussions, I tried 'phishing' to increase the probability of getting noticed. Also, I had to write it twice in one discussion as someone simply deleted it without a comment.
As for merging or lumping these three articles, I'd also suggest linking the result to the respective articles in other languages, as none of these three are linked to the German version for example which is my native language. It might appear an exotic or extravagant subject (which might be the reason why it's in three articles while it probably only requires a single one) yet I guess it might benefit nonetheless from better communication, organisation, and structurizing, especially in the English Wikipedia that is most likely the most accessed and thus probably the most significant version. -tlatosmd, June 22nd, 2:15am CET
- We could cut and paste the three articles, leaving them just as they presently are, to Edit/Pseudo-Isidorian forgeries, and put a header at each article "This article is being merged with two others at Edit/Pseudo-Isidorian forgeries. Don't edit here: come and help instead." Then keeping changes minimal we could select the best topic sentences and build paragraphs from the three texts till we had incorporated everything. First we need to give everyone who has these pages on their Watchlists some time to speak up against any merging. When all is squared away, an administator could move the page histories and all that... erm, jazz. --Wetman 00:55, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
It's pretty obvious the articles need to be merged. Which is the best one to use as base? This one? Who will do it? Halcatalyst 01:17, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
Pseudo-Isidore is a well established name in Christian theological works and is the "author" used to refer to these documents. Pseudo-Isidore is not necessarily one forger, but rather a collection of individual forgeries, each claiming to be by (or at least ascribed to) the real Saint Isidore. Things like Pseudo-Isidorian Decretals or Pseudo-Isidorian forgeries are simply adjectives built on it. I think the whole thing should be merged to Pseudo-Isidore, with cleanups and good merges. If necessary, I'll do it, but will wait a while for someone else to comment, or just do it themselves. --FourthAve 20:12, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
