{{editprotected}} - Protein Ontology Page needs to have Open Biomedical Ontologies (OBO) efforts for Protein Ontology. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bio-ont (talkcontribs) 08:56, 10 May 2007‎

I have no idea what that means. You need to give a precise, clear request that a layperson can understand if you want this article to get edited. CMummert · talk 22:54, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Like the Gene Ontology Page Protein Ontology page should inform wikipedia users about efforts leading to the development of Protein Ontology. Unlike for Gene Ontology there is no Protein Ontology Consortium, but there are three groups working towards common goal of building Protein Ontology. A brief about them is as follows: (1) Protein Ontology (PO) includes terms and relationships to describe attributes of individual proteins, (2) ProPreO is an ontology that enables a detailed description of proteomics experimental processes and data, and (3) PSI-MOD ontology has a comprehensive collection of terms for annotations that describe various types of protein modifications. We would like to write a general article about Accomplishments and Challenges to Protein Ontology Development, discussing efforts of these three groups and more. These articles on Gene Ontology, Protein Ontology and other major ontologies for biology and medicine will be ultimately linked to a page "Biomedical Ontologies" which we will be writing after respective pages for respective ontologies exist. Please allow us to edit this Protein Ontology Page. Your help in the matter will be highly appreciated. Thanks.Bio-ont 15:51, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
