Talk:Progressive Corporation/Archives/2014

Full name

"Full name: Progressive Mutual Insurance Company", where's that from? The latest 10-Q say "THE PROGRESSIVE CORPORATION", "Exact name of registrant as specified in its charter" [1]. - Jerryseinfeld 23:34, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I work for an independant insurance agency that carries Progressive, as well as several other auto insurance companies. Progressive has several "underwriting companies", which as I understand it are different risk groups categorized. They include Progressive Mutual, Progressive Preferred, Progressive Northern, Progressive Northwestern, Progressive Western, etc. These are in practice transparent to the consumer / insureds as well as the agency, the head office, and the claims people, so one could say "I'm insured with Progressive" and be perfectly accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.19.47.210 (talkcontribs)

In the fine print in their commercials where I am it says they're called "Progressive Halcyon Insurance Company" - which i remembered because it struck me as an odd name - maybe the product of a merger? --Random|[[User talk:Random832|832]] 12:04, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

-- Progressive Halcyon was the main company until the DOI allowed the name change to Progresive Direct.Random.Employee

This only applies to the Direct Channel. The umbrella corporation remains Halcyon.

The above statement is correct. The full corporation is named Progressive Corporation post the channels recombining MattAster (talk) 23:13, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Well let me ask you this then, Why on their website and in their commercials do they identify the company as Progressive Casualty Insurance Company? Because I can't find anything that identifies it was the Progressive Corporation. TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 14:25, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

Progressive -vs- Progressive Drive

What's the difference between "Progressive" and "Progressive Drive"? Fxm12 (talk) 04:31, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

I believe Progressive Drive is an insurance product that they offer whereas Progressive itself is the company. TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 14:26, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
