Most of this is covered at the prion article. I can see there could be scope in the future to make a separate article just for PrP structure and function, but we're not there yet, unless someone does some major expansion. I think we've finally got to the point now where it's almost too large and too detailed to be included in the scope of prion.

guys its 209 amino acids in the mature prion potein (both PrPc and PrPsc) due to the post translational modifoications of the peptide such as cleavege following GPI attachment and entrance into the Endoplasmic reticulum
