Controversy over polytunnel

edit

Deleting the controversy section. Unless arguments for why polytunnels are a good or bad farming technique, or good/bad for the land, it's hardly a controversy. It's a disguised bias point of view. [july 2, 2006-srm]

The controversy section as it stood was not particularly encyclopaedic. However, that there is a controversy surrounding the use of polytunnels in the UK is relevant. Quoting from a radio programme transcript is just not the best way to go about it. Holford 02:12, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I agree. A controversy most certainly exists in the west Midland shire counties (eg Herefordshire) about whether or not large expanses of polytunnels are damaging the appearance of the countryside to the detriment of tourism - which in many places is more important to the local economy than farming. It seems to have died down a bit in 2007 and 2008, though, possibly because outdoor tourism has itself been hit by two poor summers. 86.136.250.170 (talk) 22:32, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
