Alternate name

Could someone confirm that an alternate name for the phrenic nerve is the "internal respiratory nerve of Bell", according to Gray, page 928? If this is confirmed, then I would suggest adding this to List of subjects in Gray's Anatomy: Alphabetical: N as one of two replacements for the term "respiratory, of Bell". "Internal respiratory nerve" sounds plausible but too obscure. I think we ought to avoid eponyms, anyway.

On both sides, the phrenic nerve runs posterior to the subclavian vein and anterior to the internal thoracic artery as it enters the thorax. Found in the middle mediastinum, both phrenic nerves run from C3, C4 and C5 along the anterior scalene muscle deep to the carotid sheath. The right phrenic nerve passes over the brachiocephalic artery, posterior to the subclavian vein, and then crosses the root of the right lung anteriorly and then leaves the thorax by passing through the vena cava hiatus opening in the diaphragm at the level of T8. The right phrenic nerve passes over the right atrium. The left phrenic nerve passes over the pericardium of the left ventricle and pierces the diaphragm separately. On both sides the phrenic nerve runs posterior to the subclavian vein and posterior to the internal thoracic artery as it enters the thorax.[1

The first sentence and last sentence are from the article and clearly contradict one another....which is the right route of the Phrenic Nerve before entering the thorax? Stomach Pain after afib procedure

I had an afib ablation done on July 15 and have had upper stomach pain ever since. They ran tests and think it's anxiety.Had me on all types of antidepressants and anxiety medicines since then. Location

It is hard to tell from the article where exactly this nerve is. I can't find any place where it clearly mentions it, sorry. I'm assuming its around the throat Chromeuser (talk) 19:46, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
