"a period is a group of phrases consisting usually of at least one antecedent phrase and one consequent phrase totaling about 8 measures in length"—this is such an inadequate definition that it's hard to know where to start in fixing it. Tony(talk) 13:54, 8 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
