Incorrect fire diamond? edit

https://cameochemicals.noaa.gov/chemical/1285 lists this as 4/4/2 - i'm trying to find the source for the 4/4/4 listed here but failing. 103.237.42.53 (talk) 03:37, 19 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

reference 4 (https://web.archive.org/web/20150217114741/http://www.ehs.neu.edu/laboratory_safety/general_information/nfpa_hazard_rating/documents/NFPAratingJR.htm) also disagrees with 4/4/4 W, it lists it as 3/3/2 with no hazard symbol. 108.4.234.90 (talk) 08:20, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

instability and catalysis edit

you should put in a section mentioning that pentaborane lets go when it's exposed to a lot of catalysts, especially lead, tin, iron,,,,, --Patbahn (talk) 15:15, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

reference to "The Green Flame"? edit

It seems like an oversight that this page does not reference "The Green Flame: Surviving Government Secrecy" by Andrew Dequasie ... it's a memoir by someone who worked on pentaborane fuels.

Crazy Bonding edit

Can someone please explain the bonding of this? Most of the borons have 6 bonds, which makes no sense unless there is some bonds even stranger than 3-center-2-electron bonds. -- עבד יהוה talk 16:31, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Safety edit

I expect a flash point far below 0 °C, not +30 °C. --FK1954 (talk) 19:35, 27 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

There was a serious pentaborane accident on February 25th, 1982 that resulted in a death and serious injury to several members of the Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad. The squad's website has a paragraph on it. The resulting Virginia Supreme Court case is detailed here. I think this additional information on safety would be a good addition to the wiki page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.34.224.131 (talk) 20:14, 7 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

History of its use as a fuel edit

Hydrolisys was experimented with and used for small samples and amounts. The large tun containers at Edwards AFB were actually strapped with linear shaped charges and cut open. Great big mushroom cloud seen by the locals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IKalroy (talkcontribs) 03:56, 22 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Could B

H

be even more stable than this?
edit

Because X
n
H
n+2
are the less-exotic substances when X=B, N, Al, P, Sc, Ga, As, Y, In, Sb, La, Pr-Lu, Tl, Bi, Ac, than this. Is that true? Alfa-ketosav (talk) 08:12, 23 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
