Time It Takes to Make a Pebble, Depending on Type of Rock, Would be a Great Addition

edit

The time that it takes to make a pebble in nature, depending on the type of rock the pebble is made of, would be a fascinating addition to the article. Some pebbles take hundreds of millions of years to make, others tens of millions and still others only thousands of years or less. Citations of course would be needed but are not too hard to find for anyone wjho has the time.66.27.48.50 (talk) 22:32, 16 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Is it possible to have non-round pebble rock?

edit

Defining characteristic given here is size "a clast of rock with a particle size of 4–64 mm" - but in regular use of this word it seems to be used only for rounded ones. Note that all images are of rounded pieces.

Maybe there is a difference between technical definition used by geologists and normal use of the word? Like with metal (astronomy)? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 07:48, 24 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
