Fair use rationale for Image:Arma edited.JPG edit

Image:Arma edited.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Check for POV edit

"fanatic Christian and other misinformed moralistic organisations roll up to Patras from other regions of Greece during the carnival in order to denounce orgies, corruptness, "Sodom and Gomorrah", but they are prevented from creating trouble by the police. The completely unfounded accusations meet with indifference or a feeling of nuisance by the citizens of Patras and visitors of carnival. It is characteristic that the local church does not sympathise with the troublemakers since it knows that the carnival is a completely innocent recreational event"

-seems to me POV. Also preceding statements like saying it's "amazing" etc Eugene-elgato (talk) 10:02, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

@Eugene-elgato: I completely agree. It does need revision. I'll check when I have some more time, and fix some of those issues. Just a busy week (and month) for me, so I've mainly been drive-by editing. But I'll make some time and do some WP:Wikignome with the article. Quinto Simmaco (talk) 03:58, 4 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced edit

Aside from the relatively minor issues of tone, slight POV statements (as noted above by User:Eugene-elgato), and some possible peacock-ish wording, this article is fantastic. It's detailed, illustrated, and quite notable. With some revision, and cleanup regarding those preceding aforementioned issues, this could get Good Article status. Except for one major caveat... It's completely unreferenced. This event is undoubtedly notable; there's no question of that. But it needs references both establishing the notability, and for statements made throughout the article.

Quite simply, we can't have any articles that are completely unreferenced on Wikipedia. It doesn't matter whether the sources are in English or Greek (though English is preferable on the English Wikipedia, so that they can be easily checked by other editors, of course). However, they do need to meet the requirements of WP:RS. I'll help in the revision and in the effort to reference the article as time allows, but the contributors of the article should pitch in as well, especially if they have reliable sources in Greek... My ability to speak Greek is middling, and L1, at best. And my literacy in Greek script is almost non-existent. However, I can probably check those sources using machine translation and by using WP:RSN. I'll add an accompanying note to ping the major contributors later, though I assume they probably have this talk page on their watchlist. But this notice is to anyone, and everyone. Please, help in the effort to reference this notable event. If we clean up and reference this article, as I said, it could reach WP:GA status. Quinto Simmaco (talk) 03:58, 4 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
