Social Commentary edit

The Pat & Mat series also seems to be a social commentary on life under communism. There are several ways this theme seems to come out:

  • Contentment Propaganda: Citizens should be content with their conditions. The government knows what it is doing, and if you try to “fix it” you’ll only make things worse.
  • Desperation: No matter how hard Pat & Mat try to make things better for themselves, things keep getting worse. This is an allusion to the repression from totalitarian communist regimes.
  • Anti-Capitalism Propaganda: “ Pull oneself up by one’s bootstraps” is a prominant capitalistic ideal. Pat & Mat could only rely on the more socialistic “rising tide” to lift their boat.

Classic! Like Smurfs. Paste it in article under Rumors -> Pat & Mat and communism, like it is done under Smurfs. Maybe cartoon also implies homosexuality? Is anything written about that yet?

_______

Can someone create redirection: A je to -> Pat & Mat, because original title was "...A JE TO!"

New episodes edit

I've found information about at least 3 newly-produced episodes of the series on the Internet: http://www-old.zlinfest.cz/en/film/detail?id=1525 http://www.fdb.cz/serial/pat-a-mat-pat-a-mat-na-venkove-papirovy-servis/90174 http://www.fdb.cz/film/pat-a-mat-na-venkove-postele/popis-obsah/63782 (two episodes listed)

There is almost no information about these anywhere else. I've tried to get into contact with the people from the official website, but got no respond. Does anyone know anything about these episodes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by M. Pažanin (talkcontribs) 01:05, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yep, those are the 8 new episodes 'after 2004'. And - least for Holland -, what is missing now is Part 4 - because of a probable mixup - and the never-released #50 A short clip and picture(s) can be found for exemple here.

Jumpers episode number edit

Why is it listed as 16th episode here, while it is 13th on every other wiki, including Czech? Xeoxer (talk) 16:59, 25 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
