Pass Descriptions
editThe pass is a sensitive issue. It is an extremely useful move, in close-up card magic, when used correctly. I can say personally that the pass has gotten me out of many binds while performing. I would love to go into detail describing all the different kinds of passes, and some of the nuances of each, but is it even worthwhile? I'm not worried about lay-people reading about a pass because they wouldn't know it even if they saw it. It is a move that no one should tackle lightly. It is a lot harder than it looks and requires a lot of practice and dedication. I am hesitant to include descriptions simply for that reason. thoughts? N8pilot16 (talk) 18:56, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
N8pilot16, True, it is a move that unless you really know what to look for, you're not going to see it, and it can be covered by SO many other moves that it can be hidden from the eyes of magi, too. And definitely -- you can spend a lifetime perfecting a pass. I think what's good about writing an article about the pass is that it's owned by no one. So, you're not stepping on someone's toes to write about it -- in terms of a magician selling their moves to another.
However, I do think if this article's going to be here, we should clean it up. And I think merging "The Pass" and "Pass (sleight of hand)" makes sense. Also "The Pass" has some references which this doesn't, and I have a couple books I could reference for the pass too. --Protocoldroid (talk) 14:44, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
