Move?
editI just rewrote the article and hereby propose that the page should be moved to a more updated name. Most references I've encountered call these structures palmar plates or volar plates. I've redirected both these pages to this article. Any opinions? --Fama Clamosa (talk) 17:27, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
I also discovered that Palmar ligaments of interphalangeal articulations is a substub. Is there really a reason to have separate articles on these structures? Maybe both articles should be redirected to volar plate? --Fama Clamosa (talk) 18:35, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
The only difference I can think of is the deep transverse ligament of the MCP joints (and possibly check-rein ligaments). --Fama Clamosa (talk) 18:43, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
OK, proposal: merge (1) Palmar ligaments of metacarpophalangeal articulations, (2) Palmar ligaments of interphalangeal articulations, and (3) Volar plate into (4) Palmar plate. Technically, the best solution probably is to move (1) to (4) and change the redirects of (2) and (3). Of course (4) need to be partly rewritten. (Next I'll probably suggest that Plantar ligaments of metatarsophalangeal articulations, Plantar ligaments of interphalangeal articulations of foot be merged into Plantar plate.) It's possible that this is all human POV, but I've no idea what these joints look like in other beasts. --Fama Clamosa (talk) 13:54, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I guess a {{Redirect}} template in palmar plate should say something like: Volar plate redirects here. For the ligaments in the foot, see Plantar plate. --Fama Clamosa (talk) 14:18, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Assessment
editI wrote the article and assessed it as C-class. Felt generous today. --Fama Clamosa (talk) 12:52, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
