Expansion of article 17/07/06
editI've added a History section, using the history given on the club website. I've also expanded the Mascot section and removed the link to the separate page Erik The Panda, as it was deleted. Hopefully, this is enough for an upgrade at least from "stub". Further expansion may follow if I can find time for research in the Bodleian. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AlmostReadytoFly (talk • contribs) AlmostReadytoFly 09:05, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Oldest University Scout and Guide Group?
editMaybe the De Delftsche Zwervers are older. Founded 11 October 1920 as Rover-crew but on the ruins of a University old-scout-group founded 8 November 1915. --Egel Reaction? 11:31, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- I fully respect that you are probably correct and I have edited the article in response. 40 odd years ago I was involved from Oxford in organising the first meeting of University Scout and Guide Clubs/Crews/whatever from around the World as the the first Scout and Guide Witan at Gilwell Park. I wish it was better documented so we could add information to WP. However, I do recall the real difficulty then in finding information from Europe, although that was better than from the rest of the World. In the end we had a lot of participants from Europe, but few if any from outside Europe, and the 2nd Witan was held near Oslo. I think the dates were 1961 and 1963, but my memory could be wrong. I do not have access to any records. Could you translate that Dutch article to en:WP? --Bduke 13:03, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

- You have done a great job. I have added the Scout portal tag and moved one image down which gives a better layout and at least on my browser gets the "edit" links on each paragraph correct. I added a bit about the Oxford Group but it still is not correct. The OUSG does not claim on its web site to be the oldest in the world, only in Britain. I have heard the claim but I do not have a source for it. Maybe we should remove the claim from your article. --Bduke 23:51, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Merge of PostScript Magazine
editIt is proposed that this article, about a magazine, be merged into Oxford University Scout and Guide Group that publishes it. It is clearly not notable on its own. This is one of the most obvious merges I have come across for a while, and I was tempted to just do it. Please discuss below: --Bduke (Discussion) 21:54, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- Strong support. Obvious. --Bduke (Discussion) 21:54, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

- Merge completed. --Bduke (Discussion) 09:08, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Ennerdale
editIs there any good information why the Oxford Group stopped going to Ennerdale? I still remember many lovely days at Ennerdale. --Bduke (talk) 08:19, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
Erik the Panda
editErik clearly goes back a long time but it was after my time in the Group. However that section has no links to where the information comes from. If those links are not added in the next week, I will delete the section. --Bduke (talk) 07:29, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
- Finally I have deleted it as it still has no sources. Bduke (talk) 04:31, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
