Episode Titles

今日から君はホストだ = "From Today On, You're a Host"
今日から is "from today [and on]"

女子マネージャー襲来 = "The Female Manager Invades/Attacks"
襲来 is given more of a feel like a verb in the title here, and if it is "The Invasion of the Female Manager", then there'd be a 'の' between マネージャー and 襲来.

小学生ホストはやんちゃ系 = "The Elementary School Host is the Mischievous Type"
It's ....は...., not ....の.....
系 means an attribute/type and refers to やんちゃ here.

When translating titles, please be certain that you use words that actually exist. Managress is not a word. Kyaa the Catlord 04:55, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
I actually realized that while typing up the above. ^_^;;;;; User:Li Jianliang 04:57, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Added spoiler tags

I thought this was necessary since the synopsis is briefly listed for each episode.--Juhachi 07:08, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

'Host Club' it's own section

I believe that Host Club should still be it's own section because it's describing an aspect of the anime. Yes, it goes along with the story, but it really should be a seperate section.--Juhachi 03:25, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Honey or Hunny?

I was just wondering what's the official name, or agreed upon name if anything? I thought I read that it was Hunny somewhere, and then saw the edits and thought it was official. melodiester 14:41, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Well, it is spelled Hunny in the translated manga, so I'd go with that. However, in Japanese it is written ハニー or Hanii, but still, Hunny seems better.--Juhachi 19:01, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
I figured it was Honey as sort of a dual-language pun... ハニー as short for Haninozuka but also honey -> 蜜 (mitsu, a.k.a. honey) -> Mitsukuni. Who's generally sweet, and likes sweet things. And also "honey" is transliterated ハニー, isn't it? I could be totally overthinking it, of course. But relatedly, if you wrote mori as 守, isn't that like nursemaid or babysitter? I know his name's not written that way, but it seems pretty appropriate. My Japanese isn't very good, though, so I could be completely wrong! -- Ninjakitten 04:46, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
What you've said Ninjakitten makes a lot of sense and "other meanings" are done with other anime character's names such as in Puni Puni Poemy for example. I think this could be included in the article. --Squilibob 01:12, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Episode Table Request

Can someone please edit the code for the episode table so that the episode number is displayed on the left side of the title? I tried editing the table but failed. --Atashi 17:41, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, the code itself is just a set of variables that call to a template, Template:Japanese episode list, Apart of WikiProject List of Television Episodes. We were just discussing making that a feature (to select right side or left side episode numbers). Hopefully it will be in later tonight (if I don't fall asleep) or sometime this weekend. -- Ned Scott 04:37, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Text re-aligning

x_x I added a picture of Haruhi's father, but the thumbnail link ended up messing up the "Episodes" title! I'm sooo sorry! I'm a newbie at Wikipedia, and I haven't figured out all the code yet. Can anyone fix this?

I can't seem to be able to screenshot the episode, so I would sugest to put Tamaki humping on the dummy as the thumbnail for ep 11 cause its so funny xD Raquel Sama

Nooo, fair use policy on Wikipedia requires that usage not be decretive. And all images should be something to aid in episode identification. -- Ned Scott 02:29, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Split episode section to it's own article

Seeing as how there will be 26 episodes, I've split the episode section off to List of Ouran High School Host Club episodes. Don't forget to add it to your watch lists :D -- Ned Scott 04:58, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

In progress TV show template

It is from my experience on wikipedia that this template is almost never used and it only makes the article look a little bad while it's still in use. I propose to remove the template. 16:53, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree - the template is not necessary and useless, in my opinion as well. - Ganryuu 16:55, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree, since the template should only be used when needed, not as a label for all in-progress shows. If an article becomes confusing due to it's in-progress status, or something to that extent, then that would warrant the use of the template. -- Ned Scott 03:51, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't see this. --GunnarRene 19:35, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Plot incorrect and redundant info

During their first meeting, Haruhi is shocked at their behavior which causes her to inadvertently knock over a very expensive vase valued at ¥8,000,000 (about $80,000 American).

Actually it is closer to $70,000 American. Under Haruhi's section in characters it is explained properly and I don't think it needs to be explained twice. Maybe the cost of the vase is redundant in this sentence? --Squilibob 01:08, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Okay, maybe the American value doesn't need to be explained twice, but the only reason I included it into the plot is because it's relavent to the plot that she knocked over such an expensive vase that she couldn't afford to pay back unless she worked for the club. That said, it's also relavent in her character section, so I think it should be kept there as well, with the value given in the American translation, however wrong it may be.
On a side note: I'm sorry I wrote it in that it was about $80,000 American; I had no idea the rate had dropped so much. Learn something new everyday I suppose. 05:41, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

TOC template?

I propose the removal of the table of contents template that floats the TOC to the left of the screen. This is mainly because this seems more like a stylist issue and it's normally seen on most wiki pages with no template present. Thoughts? 05:43, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea to me. The TOC can be hidden anyways. -- Ned Scott 05:46, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
