Anyone know of artists who've played Orvilles or still play them now?

When moving,

When moving, I of course meant "capitalization", not "commercialization"... although the two are quite similar ;) Jobjörn (Talk ° contribs) 14:09, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Supposed Market Value

edit

The article should not mention market values, because that artificially influences the market and sounds like the article is defending someone's interest, btw the way all the "Acquisition" section was sounding like a desperate propaganda. The values are not even correct, right now on ebay there are some Orville for much lower than mentioned in the article, and that's the usual.I'm going to remove the Acquisition section from the article.

Which is the real manufacturing period??

edit

Hi, Thanks for an interesting article.

I have found contradicting information on the manufacturing dates of Orville: they should according to Andrew Mechling at Guitar Japan have been manufactured 84 - 93, not 88-98 as stated in this article...

His story can be found here: http://www.guitarsjapan.com/orvillegibsoninfopage.html

What is correct? What are the sources supporting the manafacturing period here at Wikipedia?

(Personally I don't have any opinion of which is correct, both stories seems credible to me ;) )

Best regards, Jakob M.

The manufacturing dates of Orville are 1988-1998 and are sourced from Yamano who produced the Orvilles and are also verified by Orville serial number collecting and tracking and are also verified by Orville by Gibson and Orville catalogues. On the article page are the 1992 and 1997 catalogues so 1993 could not possibly be when the Orvilles ended. A lot of sites have how shall I put it, interesting? dates and serial number info for the Orvilles and how they arrived at these is a complete mystery. Guitarspecs 16:24, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
