Hi user 68.174.171.34

You seem to be removing large parts of this article on a daily basis, can you explain why you think they are factually incorrect? Lets discuss the content of the article here, instead of constantly reverting each other's edits :) Smitz 14:52, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

hello sir

It appears that you originally wikified the article about Mr Amanat so (if, in fact, it did not originate with you) my problem is that someone is defaming Mr Amanat by selectively posting false and misleading information about him on wikipedia. I am concerned that there is an agenda behind these false and misleading statements. For instance, the article mentions a purported SEC settlement with Irfan Amanat, Omar Amanat's brother "Irfan Amanat's settlement with the SEC." This is patently false and ficititious information. Clearly Wikipedia is allowing this recklessness to occur oblivious of the reality of the situation. In fact, as the following link shows "ALL CHARGES WERE DISMISSED" against Mr Amanat and this link: http://www.sec.gov/litigation/aljdec/id304lam.pdf from the SEC's own website clearly shows that, far from a "settlement" and ban from the industry, as your wiki would lead readers to falsely believe, Mr. Amanat was exonerated by the SEC. Whoever wikified the original story was cleary was being deceitful and slanderous when omitting this significant detail.

The rest of the article suffers from the same sins of ommission and glaring mistakes with false information mixed with only bite sized partial truths. For instance, while it makes headline mention of the purported 'lawsuit' by E*Trade it makes no mention of the fact that the ETrade lawsuit is only a counterclaim filed AFTER Mr Amanat and his company sued E*TRADE for fraud and hit them with a $1.5 billion first on April 8th 2004 http://www.shareholder.com/Common/Edgar/1015780/1193125-05-46680/05-00.pdf (as Etrade themselves are forced to admit in this public filing) and that a class action lawsuit led by Milberg Weiss was filed against E*TRADE and its CEO Christos Cotsakos for the same highly publicized scandal regarding the theft of $88 million by its then CEO see link: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2002/05/10/financial0834EDT0036.DTL. as well as http://news.com.com/2100-1017-922832.html. The wiki page makes no mention of this fact nor does it mention the fact that Mr Amanat sold his company to E*Trade just three weeks prior to this disclosure and public scandal -when it was first revealed in a May 1st 2002 front page WSJ article - that Cotsakos robbed shareholders of $88 million (which came on top of $240 million in losses for the year) When this was revealed to the public for the first time in May 2002 it caused the shares to decline by 70%. There were hundreds of additional articles written about this in 2002 and it ultimately led to ETRADE's then CEO resigning.

By selectively attaching only Etrade's allegations and point of view in the article and not representing the other side of the story the reader is presented with a one-sided biased view of the situation. The writer of the article may be an Etrade employee, executive or shareholder intended to damage the credibility of the major witness against ETRADE in very large public lawsuit.

More examples of this include the article stating that "his personal creditors filed an involuntary bankrutpcy petiton in 2004" is also partial information and misleading. No mention is made of the fact that the purported creditors(Jon Tanzman Marc Rock and Jared Kaban)http://www.google.com/search?q=tanzman+rock++kaban+etrade+&hl=en&lr=&rls=SNYC,SNYC:2004-17,SNYC:en&start=10&sa=N were in fact ETrade executives at the time http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/ir?s=ET, and were just paid $11.6 million as disclosed by Etrade in a public filing in 2003 http://www.secinfo.com/d14D5a.115fn.htm and that the petition was itself filed within days AFTER the filing by Mr Amanat of the $1.5 billion lawsuit and was filed in an attempt to stem Mr Amanat's suit against the petitoners own company Etrade where they worked and owned a material amount of stock: http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=ET

The slander goes a step further when it goes on to somehow flatly simply that "Omar Amanat's father, Amanat Sharif, was previously associated with healthcare fraud" This is a completely blanket unbutressed assertion that is simply nothing short of slanderous. I could go on and on and dissect the rest of the article but it is clear that someone has a personal agenda in making these postings and wikipedia users and wikipedia itself is suffering from the flawed personal lens of the writer as a result. These are major litigations involving major sums of money. Perhaps it is best to dispense with the links and potential slander or include everything including both sides of a complicated story. To leave the current article up however is to be asking to be sent into the center of a fire and is misleading at best.

It seems to me that the whole section could be radically shortened: we don't need to rehearse the full details of every lawsuit he may or may not be involved in. Can we reduce the whole section to a single paragraph that complies with WP:NPOV? Supplementary links to the SEC and US Courts Service sites can be provided as references. --Nick Boalch ?!? 12:28, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

== i agree with nick, the whole section itself should be deleted sounds like there is a major dispute and we dont need to get into the messy details and if we put all the allegations of every lawsuit of every litigation of every executive in wikipedia then we would not be doing a service to the use experience. I would suggest an edit along those lines.

If i can add a little bit. I worked for Omar at Tradescape in 2002, prior to him selling out to ETrade. What this whole article fails to mention is that Omar owned three companies connected with Tradescape: Tradescape Corp, Tradescape Securities, and Market XT. He only sold the two tradescape companies leaving with all the debt he had outstanding, including 1/3 of my salary over a 4 month period...not to mention 40 other traders who i worked with (total of 1.5 mln). I am trying not to forget other employees and creditors such as Softbank and companies XT owned money to like the Nasdaq and SEC.

In June of 2002, a few weeks after the ET sale, we (40 traders) were given promissory notes stating that we would be paid what we were owed plus interest and legal fees. Apparantly these notes arent worth the paper they're written on. We spent the past 3 years in and out of court but Omar is hiding behind his XT's bankruptcy and as employees, we are last in line and have contuinued to throw good money after bad in chasing him down. We're almost relegated to alternative means of getting our money, but try equating a Wiki post to $30,000 that I'm owed. The least I, and the other traders and employees can do is ruin his public life, finding everything he is involved in and informing them they are doing business with a crook or have a crook sitting on their board or speaking at their school.

My only purpose with this post is to inform the users of Wiki that you need to see the whole person, not just the good, especially when they have permanently scarred so many like Omar Amanat did.

I was a senior Human Resources exec of MarketXT Inc and can readily verify that the previous discussion's writer Mr. Dennis Lowenfels was not an employee of MarketXT Inc "under Omar" as he claims above. He may go around falsely fabricating his resume and stating he was an employee but he was simply a daytrader at E*Trade Pro (an entity Mr Amanat is suing and fka Momentum) back in the glory days of NASDAQ when anyone with a pulse could make money...apparently except for Mr Lowenfels. Now he is filling the airwaves with his personal gripes better left aired in a lawsuit. "Woulda coulda shoulda, Didya? 'Meat Hooks' Lowenfels? Get on with your life and stop bothering us with your poor little gripes of 'woe is me.' There are alot more deserving charity cases than someone who frittered away his time daytrading and losing his savings and income. The proof is in the pudding.. If he was truly wronged then a judge and jury will one day decide. If he is lying then he will resort to other pressure tactics such as public slander and defamation of character like he is doing here. Either way he should be stopped from bothering us with these lies. The wiki user experience should be spared this slander, defamation and continued edit wars---he is way past the three edit rule. to the senior HR exec at MKXT

he is not stating that he did not make money. he did, i did, we all did. what we are stating is that we were only paid 2/3 of the money we were owed...our salary/commissions. we cannot get in front of a judge because employees seem to go last in line behind huge companies like ETrade and Softbanc.

i agree that the wiki user should be spared this drama, but the fact remins that nearly 4 years after we were "forced" to sign prommissory notes (if we left the room, we forfeited our owed wages. if we didnt sign within 2 hours we forfeited our owed wages) we have nothing but legal bills to show. throwing good money after bad is a waste...so this is the only forum we have left...freedom of speech. this is not slander or libel since it is true...regardless of the intricacies of the deal Omar had with ET...we worked for him. he didnt pay us.

you guys are up to your old blackmail tricks again. if you sued him then why dont you wait your day in court. Apparently you dont even know if you sued him or a company he may or may not have been involved with in a "high up" capacity. you are vandalising a page that has been accepted for 6 months without edit and now are openly asking the subject to "pay up" otherwise you will continue to slander him. with claims you can back up everything. This troll is once again way beyong the three edit rule. and has violated POV. ENough vandalism, blackmail and slander and get on with your life.

Nice to see Mr Amanat's in house counsel is more worried about Wiki edits than he is about squaring away his clients debts to his former employees.

It's not slander if its true :)

Traders worked for Mr Amanat. He sold most of his companies to E-Trade leaving the one with all the debt out of the deal so he could hide in bankruptcy court like many others have done.

Mr In-House Counsel, if Mr Amanat didnt pay you for your professional services, how would you handle it? Just let it go away and get on with your life.

Business with Omar Amanat

I feel it is my duty to inform people, who may consider doing business with Omar, about my past business experiences with Mr. Amanat.

It would be wrong of me to not make this information public.

For any questions, I can be reached at barkleyparamus@yahoo.com

Payment for Work performed

Mr. Araneo, I must agree with the posting from that other person. You would be upset if you performed legal work for Mr. Amanat and you were not paid for it.

Please do not continue to delete my postings. This game of erasing and reposting is just silly. All I ask is that Omar make good on my Promissory Note that was signed by him 4 years ago. I am not representing the entire group of 40 people when I say this, I am only representing myself.

If you would like to discuss this matter personally, I can be reached at the email address provided.

HELLO, I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU SOME FACTS ABOUT MY WORK EXPERIENCE WITH MR. AMANAT. OMAR WAS C.E.0. OF MARKET XT. I WAS A TRADER AT MARKET XT. I EARNED PROFITS THAT WERE NEVER PAID OUT TO ME. INSTEAD, MR. AMANAT SIGNED A PROMISSORY NOTE TO ME 4 YEARS AGO. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE MONEY PROMISED ON THIS LEGAL DOCUMENT.

I feel it is my duty to inform people about my past business experiences with Mr. Amanat.

It would be wrong of me to not make this information public.

For any questions, I can be reached at barkleyparamus@yahoo.com

Mr. Araneo, do you bill Omar everytime you edit this page?

The truth

Why is the public not allowed to know the truth about Mr. Amanat. I have seen Case Nos, and Index Nos. here and magically removed. I copied them when I saw it. The lawsuits are real (I looked them up). Why are you trying to make it appear that Mr. Amant is such an innocent when he isn't? The defense for slander is truth. Why won't you allow anyone to hear the truth?67.91.252.44 20:39, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Curious One
