The Faces of Evil & The Wand of Gamelon edit

Should we add that The Faces of Evil and The Wand of Gamelon came out October 10, 1993? 76.64.3.245 (talk) 04:45, 1 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rebecca Pidgeon - born twice edit

I noted that British-American actress Rebecca Pidgeon's birth appears in "On This Day" twice, under both October 10, 1965 and October 25, 1965. I quickly found references from reputable and usually reliable sources for both of those October days (IMDb and FilmReference.com respectively). The latter source notes that the year may be 1963 or 1965. Actresses (and actors) have been known to adjust the year of their birth in opposite directions very early and much later in their careers, but don't simultaneously adjust the day of the year by an insignificant 15 days. Does anybody have a tie-breaking independent source to resolve this contradiction? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChrisJBenson (talkcontribs) 19:51, 9 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Columbus Day edit

Lolz wikipedia. Social advocacy score! Meanwhile, people still need to find out why some shops are closed. I guess answering those kinds of questions are not part of Wikipedia's charter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mlprater (talkcontribs) 17:16, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

According to the article, Columbus Day is October 12 historically/traditionally, now (since 1970) in the US officially the second Monday in October. According to Wikipedia:Days of the year § Holidays and observances (with my emphasis added) "... entries should also be limited to those events that occur on the same date annually" - which is why it is not on October 10, because it does not fall on that date every year. World Homelessness Day edit

I notice the link for World Homelessness Day loops back to the 10th October entry.

Can someone create the relevant page, and add it to the link?

Cheers …

I have seen the World Homelessness Day is not added? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.32.117.89 (talk) 10:54, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

RMS Leinster Centenary today edit

It would be nice to get this added today, because today is the centenary of the event, the worst ever loss of life on the Irish Sea, when RMS Leinster was torpedoed by a German sub just 32 days before World War One ended. I assume it was also one of the worst sinkings of that world war, tho I'd have to check where it fits on that list. So I've added it to the list here. However I've never dealt with On This Day before (I'm more used to working with In The News), and I assume there are quality issues to be addressed, which I don't have the knowledge or the time to address myself (always assuming it isn't already too late anyway). Can I ask those at the article to have a go, or is it already too late for that? Tlhslobus (talk) 12:58, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I've now also left a similar message to this one at the article's Talk Page, in case anybody there is interested in trying to get it onto today's front page (assuming it's not already too late for that).Tlhslobus (talk) 13:10, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

My Little Pony edit

October 10, 2010 is also the day when My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic premiered in The Hub. This show had a huge impact on meme and internet culture, becoming famous with people outside the original public (commonly called "bronies").

But I have some sort of fear of adding this topic to this page, so I want to hear everyone's opinion on this topic? Should it be added or not? Every opinion matters. JoãotheWikiFan (talk) 16:46, 8 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
