See also edit

I have deleted the "See also" section because it was redundant. It contained only one link, to Goldstein's book, which is also linked in the body of the article and the 1984 template at the bottom of the page. Pat Berry 05:37, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spoilers edit

Dude. Where's the spoiler warning? O'Brien actually being loyal to the party is HUGE.

Gothic? edit

Could the 'double' relationship between O'Brien and Winston be due to Orwell showing a Gothic influence? They are presented as polar opposites, and explicit mention is made of their apparent symbiosis (or at least Winston's perception of it.) --81.159.161.115 (talk) 22:41, 9 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Emma Goldman edit

Emma Goldman should at least be mentioned as probably having inspired the name "Emmanuel Goldstein"; many web sites support this suspicion. I haven't edited this into the article myself because I'm not aware of a suitable definitive citation, but it's likely that at least one exists. 73.53.44.165 (talk) 20:34, 24 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
