Name.
The official name of this site is now Burrunggui, and has been so for about 15 years (although it was initially spelt Burrunguy), so this page should be renamed to reflect this. The name Nourlangie Rock comes from Nawurrlangurr which is the correct name of a smaller outcrop just south of Burrunggui. Anbangbang is the main rock shelter at the base of Burrunggui and has been known by this name for many years. http://www.environment.gov.au/parks/kakadu/visitor-activities/rock-art-nourlangie.html.
