History of North Brunswick edit

The entire section seems to be wrong/backwards. North Brunswick consists of land south of New Brunswick, not north as claimed. Additionally East Brunswick and Milltown were formed from land taken from North Brunswick, not the other way around (see the entries for those townships where the information is given correctly) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.185.174 (talk) 20:51, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Name/ Etymology edit

If North Brunswick is south of New Brunswick (which it is), then why is it called North Brunswick? Why isn't it called Middle Brunswick or even West Brunswick? — Rickyrab. Yada yada yada 19:20, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Mapmaker.rutgers.edu claims that North Brunswick was founded after South Brunswick was, and it was, for some reason, called the "north ward" of New Brunswick in the 19th century (even though it would've been in a southern part of New Brunswick!). This might have led to North Brunswick being named in relation to South Brunswick, which was so named because it was south of New Brunswick. East Brunswick was organized after North Brunswick, but the area west of North/New Brunswick bears the municipal names of "Somerset" and "Franklin", not "Brunswick". — Rickyrab. Notable Residents edit

It seems to be commonly accepted on Wikipedia that on a city/town article, the people chosen for a list of "Notable Residents" should have some appeal as a celebrity or be otherwise notable in business, medicine or some other field. Whether or not that is defined by a certain number of Google hits is up for discussion. I have deleted the snowboarder, Erkan Kose, on the list for North Brunswick because there is no source information on the internet that tells us why he is notable or otherwise famous.--Dalmatian Mommy 20:56, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • I have posted a detailed explanation of the relevant policies on the user's talk page. The Erkan Kose doe snot establish notability and additions on this and other articles as a notable do not establish a connection to the places in question. Any further additions without proper documentation and sources should be removed, and (as warned) be treated as vandalism. Alansohn 21:38, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
