Talk:Nembrotha kubaryana

Rudolph Bergh gave two names to two individuals of this animal (which he, of course, did not recognize as the same animal at the time) in the same 1877 paper: Nembrotha nigerrima and Nembrotha kubaryana. Pola, Cervera and Gosliner originally gave priority to Nembrotha nigerrima in their March 2008 Scientia Marina revision of the genus and set Nembrotha kubaryana as synonym based on their interpretation of the Code. However, after further discussion among scientists in the area, they reversed their conclusion. Priority of Nembrotha kubaryana was reestablished by the same authors in a note in their September 2008 Bulletin of Marine Science article on another genus of the same subfamily.
