Hello Arconning, I'll be reviewing this article. I should be done by the end of the day! Fritzmann (message me) 20:43, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Intro I'm not particularly experienced with this kind of article, so I will be using Philippines at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Tuvalu at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Saint Kitts and Nevis at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and Marshall Islands at the 2020 Summer Olympics as comparison.

Formatting and Images

  • The infobox looks to be in order, but I don't notice any others that have the "Officials" parameter. However, since it's elaborated on in the text I think it's warranted.
  • The article is appropriately illustrated, and both images are properly licensed

Prose

  • I notice other articles have more expansive backgrounds, which touch on the country's history, the history of its Olympic Committee, as well as sometimes the delegation's administration. Could this be included in this article as well to some extent?
  • "have been postponed" --> were postponed. I'll keep an eye out for other tense changes, but I'd appreciate if you did a sweep as well.
  • Are there links or explanations for "universality slot" or "tripartite invitation quota"? I'm not familiar with the terminology.
  • "Both athletes did not medal" --> Neither athlete medaled
  • "has yet to earn" --> had not earned
  • The second sentence of Travel is a doozy. Is there any way to rewrite it to be a bit more readable? I'm having a bit of comma overload.
  • The lead says "The Nauruan delegation consisted of two athletes" while the body says "The Nauruan delegation composed of seven people". I understand this includes coaches and officials, but perhaps the distinction could be made more clear.
  • "Abouke was the last Nauruan athlete to compete at the Games" will very likely be untrue very shortly with the 2024 iteration. I recommend rewording or just removing this statement.
  • "Aged 18 years old, she was the youngest female lifter and lifter in general to compete at these Games" I think this would be a very good DYK once this is promoted.
  • Is there a reason Charisma Amoe-Tarrant competed for Australia and not Nauru? Also her section breaks up that of Abouke and should probably be moved.
  • Should "snatching" be in the past tense as "snatched" or is that improper?
  • "stating that she would beat them in future competitions" is improper voice

References

  • Spot checks of Refs 7, 12, and 21 are all good to go.

Just those few prose points to take care of and then the article should be good to promote! Please ping me when you've responded so I can do a final sweep of the article. Fritzmann (message me) 23:20, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Fritzmann2002 Hi! I might get around this around... July 1 if that's alright with you. I'm busy on another project and I promise I'll get here once I'm done with that. :) Arconning (talk) 03:22, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yep that works for me! I may review your other 2020 summer olympic article in the meantime because this one was pretty straightforward to do. Fritzmann (message me) 13:46, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
