What of the name/term Metod^[1]^[2] in Anglo-Saxon/Old English as God in the Christian capacity as Wyrd to the old pagan conception? For example: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/metod

the word "ealdor" edit

"ealdor" was glossed as "elder". This is indeed one possible meaning of "ealdor", but "ealdor" in Old English poetry usually means "prince" and with this translation the kenning "wuldres ealdor" makes much more sense, i.e. "prince of glory" (a common phrase in Christianity everywhere) not "elder of glory".
