Coin

We have a coin dated 1898 on the front it says National Association Agricultural Implement& Vehicle MFRS. 238.Grs. 999 Fine Progress 1898 Then on the back it says Newspaper Advertising N.W. AYER & SON Philadelphia Keeping Everlastingly at it brings success and it has the bell, state house and the man with penn. and on the front it has a wheel and garden tool. Im looking for some imformation on this coin

First?

The book "Graphic Design Referenced", Bryony Gomez-Palacio and Armin Vit, Rockport, 2009, p. 10 also claim N.W. Ayer & Son to be the first ad agency, but the Wikipedia entry for Advertising Agency indicates another business, founded in 1812 to be the first, and another US company, founded in the 1840's, as the first American ad agency. Which is correct? Kwixson (talk) 04:36, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Article Improvement

I think this article can use some improvement, give more information about the agency's origin, as well as more notable employees. If possible, to post images of their slogans in use and of the agency's building. Also information of various events that the agency has been through should be mentioned too. Outline Summary of Article Improvement

For the N.W Ayer & Son article, I would like to provide more information about the company itself, as well as their achievements and other notable milestones. Currently, the article only has a very small portion of information, and isn’t of much use. I would also add the agency’s obstacles that the company had to face, and what they did to surpass them. I’ll also include the slow decline of N.W Ayer & Son and how it started to slowly fade away as time progressed, and what exactly contributed to it. I would like to improve this and include founders of the company, such as presidents, CEO’s and others who have been an influential part of the company. I’d like to include excerpts from the speeches given by the president and CEO of the agency. I would also like to include the origins of the company, to show how this company came to be. I want to fully discuss the agency’s importance to advertising, as well as its importance to design. To add, I would like to add a few images of their building, from when they began to what it is now. On the article there are examples of N.W. Ayer & Son’s advertisements, but they all lack any images to represent each of them. I plan to add to those examples with full images and more information such as which employee’s designed it and whatever backstory if any at all. Along with the examples given, I hope to find for examples of their work as I continue my research.

Peer Review

I see youve addded an exponential amount of new information to the N. W. Ayer & Son article, great job. Some suggestion although i didnt see any really long section, however if you do come across a section with an overwhelming amounti of info break up that section. for example a long biography can be broken into "early" and "late" life. same can be done for life/career works. but all in all the article looks great, mayb some pictures? idk what your licensing situation is but a few would be nice to have. Good work Token718 (talk) 01:17, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
