Article contradicts itself: How many types are there? 2 or 3? edit

Article starts with "Myofilaments are the two protein filaments of myofibrils", but the rest of the article refers to "three different types of myofilaments". Permacultura (talk) 13:41, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Permacultura - it's one of the many issues (everywhere) waiting to be addressed (by someone). Most sources refer to two and just a few include the elastic. It could probably be overcome by stating that the two are usually referred to as being the filaments that slide over in muscle contraction and bring in the third type. OR just stick to the cited three and change the lead. which imo is the better option. Thanks --Iztwoz (talk) 18:42, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
You're probably right, User:Iztwzo . I'm studying Physiology 1 now, so I'll check out a few of the current textbooks, and see what I come up with Permacultura (talk) 06:42, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
