Um, this article neglects the endocylic bond cleavage mechanism that proceeds through an oxocarbenium ion. Just an FYI. There was an important historical debate about the operative mechanism of mutarotation, and this article simplifies that too much. --192.17.41.118 (talk) 03:27, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
