Untitled

I was born and raised in the Virgin Islands and never heard of a form of music called "mix." The wikipedia article is citing a source with incorrect information. I am 100% positive about this. Also, it's spelled "quelbe," not "quelbey."

Okay, I've removed it because the link is broken. The Garland Encyclopedia uses quelbey though, and this page uses quelbe, so I went with the Garland because it's more authoritative. Do you have any sources on the spelling? Tuf-Kat 02:36, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

hii

It's definitely quelbe. Here are some authoritative sources; a google search returns many more:

Fail GA

I've failed the GA. One main reason is because I think the article would need a thorough cleanup.

  • The lead section is very "talky"
  • The section "Institutions, festivals, education and venues" deals with four different topics that seem to have nothing in common.
  • Other sections would also benefit from having the important information highlighted and less important information removed.
  • The structure could also be improved, I find it hard to get a grasp of the article.

Furthermore I think it would benefit from having some images. Images aren't necessary for GA, but should be present "if possible", and I think there are possibilities for images here.

If you disagree with my evaluation, you can bring the article up at Wikipedia:Good articles/Review.

Eddie and the Movements

Just curious. Why is there no reference to one of the longest lasting and more popular VI calypso bands, Eddie and the Movements, more affectionatley refered to as Jam Band? Kudos however. I found this article contained well-rounded information and historical references. --Tamarind70 19:52, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
