This article needs a major rewrite/cleanup. The information is not well organized and the grammar is very bad. There are many incomplete and run-on sentences. The paragraphs are disjointed and don't have any internal logical progression. The information may be very valuable and as such it is a good start (I don't mean to criticize the author; I get the feeling the author is not a native English speaker). I've been very busy lately but I will try to rewrite the article, making sure to incorporate the author's valuable contribution.--WilliamThweatt 03:45, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
Im Srey Peouv is not a famous singer, she is only famous in Cambodian culture and music but, her name is not big in the Cambodian industry. (71.22.170.68 (talk) 04:46, 6 January 2010 (UTC))
Organization
Maybe a good place to start thinking about improving this page is to consider organization (ignoring the way it's set up presently). Right now there's history, style, instrumentation, etc. all sort of in there together. Here are some possible sections (not intended to be comprehensive):
- History - musical trends maybe, but more about music in the bigger historical context
- Traditional music
- Modern music
- Dance music
- Mid-20th century/pre-Khmer Rouge popular music
- Popular music today
- Instrumentation
- Industry (noting the bit about VCDs seems interesting)
These Good Articles may be instructive: Music of Barbados, Music of Madagascar, Music of Saint Lucia, or even Music of Italy (though I don't think we'll have access to as much by way of sources to use such an expansive outline). — Rhododendrites talk \\ 20:25, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
If anyone wants to work together, I am game to contribute to this article. I started by improving individual musical instruments, linked to through Pinpeat. Perhaps that article might be better placed as a subsection in this one?Jacqke (talk) 21:03, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
