Please edit the article on the Moose Dropping Festival. It was not named after dropping moose nuggets from a helicopter: it was an original, copyrighted game where you tossed nuggets onto a board with numbers and the one who had the highest score at the end of the festivcal split the pot with the Historical Society. These days, the game is still played but there is no money involved- just for fun. Seems there was a conflict with the Gaming Board about children gambling. The local VFW holds a Moose Dropping Drop raffle during the festival. Numbered nuggets are put in a large sack and hoisted up by crane, then the bag is opened and the nuggets fall onto a "bullseye" on the ground. Nugget closest, farthest, and some in between win money. The first year the VFW did this drop, they used a helicopter to hoist the bag. BAD IDEA! The prop wash scattered the nuggets everywhere! The original old timers who came up with the idea for the festival are mostly gone now, but some of us have been here for 30+ years and are doing our best to keep history straight.
