Problem formulation

In the WP article it is now agreed that, in the standard formulation of the Monty Hall problem:

  • The car is initially placed uniformly at random.
  • The choice of door by the player is independent of the placement of the car.
  • Monty always opens a door after the player has made her choice.
  • Monty never opens the door chosen by the player.
  • Monty never reveals the car.
  • When the player has initially chosen the car, Monty chooses which door to open uniformly at random.
  • Monty always offers the opportunity to switch.

Question: when does Monty makes his offer? Nijdam (talk) 21:47, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

This page is intended to be about what the sources say on that subject. It would be a good plan to add to each source their answer to that question Martin Hogbin (talk) 08:43, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
