MONTEREYCLIPPER.COM

I found the comments by others to be true, unfortunately there is very little information out there about these historical and wonderful little boats. So it is nice to see the information in more places, but credit must be given to the information source.

I have visited Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco and found some of these great Monterey Clipper boats, and their owners who will share their colorful history. Most of the history is still in the minds of the few Fishermen who are on the docks. From the Monterey Clipper owners at Fisherman's Wharf, these boats are also commonly called "Montereys" and "Double enders". They are now being preserved by some devoties as historical icons. These little boats are part of what built Fisherman's Wharf, and the west coast fishing industries.

On the web I found a great site: montereyclipper.com http://www.montereyclipper.com]] it is very basic, but good info and site admin will answer your questions. Also The Maritime bookstore at the the Hyde Street Pier National Maritime Park has some good books: "If you take care of 'em, they will last!" and "Fisherman's Wharf".

Didgood?

This entire article seems to have been lifted, word-for-word, from the Didgood site ([1]). Doesn't that breach Wikipedia's rules on copying sources?--Stu-Rat 15:36, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
