Rename Micro switch -> Snap action switch

The correct term for these small switches is snap-action switch. Micro-switch is one brand name for a snap-action switch. References:

I have created redirects to here, but I am not entirely convinced that "snap action switch" is the primary term. Per WP:COMMONNAME, Wikipedia articles should use the most popular article name. A quick Google test gives 27k for "snap action switch" and 546k for "micro switch". The only question is whether it's accurate. -- intgr [talk] 19:54, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

I have known these to be called something like precision miniature snap-action switches. (See what Digi-Key calls them!) Even though Google hit counts favor usage as a generic term, I think Wikipedia, in this case, is guilty of trademark "dilution". I'd strongly recommend that the title be changed to something like "Precision snap-action switch", but written so that the commonplace "micro switch" is very prominently included -- perhaps ("Micro Switch™") would be appropriate. It seems notably inconsistent to have such plainly-visible and extensive notifications about copyright for images, while minimizing recognition of a long-established trademark in an article title. Trademark logos are handled totally differently, because they're copyrighted. However, plain text trademark usage does not fall under copyright (see the public domain notice at File:Comodo logo.png for instance). I would agree with retitling ("moving" - but it doesn't go anywhere) to "Miniature snap-action switch", with a redirect from "micro switch" - the article can then acknowledge the commonplace generic use of the trademark. How are things like this assembled

Are there fully automatic machines for it or are these assembles by hand? Anyone knows? 109.193.59.242 (talk) 12:46, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Is this a serious question or one of those baffling vandalism edits on talk pages? A snap switch sells for pennies...do you really think isolated craftsmen each year load bags of hand-built switches onto their pack vicunas and bring them down to the markets each spring? --Wtshymanski (talk) 21:20, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
