Talk:Millennium City, UK

I reject the deletion as there is not way of looking up millenium city and getting the 'city status article'. The City Status article does not mention 'Millenium City' and does not list the Millenium cities. This article refers to the 'City Status' article to avoid duplication. If there was a way of linking to a sub category within the City Status article, containing this material, directly with a redirect then I would consider that as an improvement. The term "Millennium City" is just a collective nickname used to describe the three cities. I stand by my view that this is better explained in the City status in the United Kingdom article. As a balanced view, I don't think the term is notable enough for an article of its own. (For the record, I am a native of one of the cities in question.) I have therefore edited the "City status" article to mention the term, and changed this article to a redirect to the relevant subsection. --RFBailey 22:53, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

You are factually incorrect "Millenium City" is not a nickname http://www.wolverhamptoncity.co.uk/ http://www.dca.gov.uk/constitution/city/citygjpn0701.htm

The suggested link now confusingly goes straight to city status rather than to a sub section although this is better than nothing. It is now tricky to find the reference. Mariegriffiths 23:59, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The two links do not persuade me to change my mind: the second does not use the term at all (it mentions the "Millennium city status competition"), while the first only uses the term as part of a slogan. --RFBailey 21:19, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
