Birthplace?
According to this site MT was born in Texada Island, British Columbia. http://northernstars.ca/actorsstu/tilly_meg_bio.html

I've added a link to a fan site because I thought it had extensive information that was more detailed than we'd want. An interview on that site was my basis for changing her birthplace from British Columbia to California. JamesMLane 29 June 2005 15:39 (UTC)
Needs Corroboration
More information is needed to corroborate Meg Tilly's birth place, as the interview referenced doesn't actually quote Tilly about her birthplace, the Internet Movie Data Base lists her place of birth as British Columbia [[1]], and referenced California birth records could be for someone else (the complete record can't be viewed without a membership to Ancestry.com). A direct quote from her would be useful given this conflicting evidence.
- Yeah, you're right. It's really important. Earth-shattering. Imagine Conan O'Brien shaking his enormous birdlike hands around. It's that important. Or you could pony up the money for the membership. You seem just a tad creepy. What does the sign in your yard say?
- The story is simple. Lots of places repeat unverified data, and so the same false facts circulate. IMDB is wrong. The birth certificate is right. Meg, like Jennifer, was born in California and only later moved to Canada.
Also, her nationality is listed as American. This may or may not be true given that her birth place is still in question and that she was raised and schooled in Canada and apparently still lives there at least some of the time. She may in fact be a dual citizen and if so this should be stated. Again, more information is needed to clarify her status.Rpaege 04:16, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- As two reasonably respectable sites have her listed unequivocally as Canadian I think it's time for the original author of this article to 'put up or shut up': either cite evidence to the contrary or redact the apocrypha now.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.5.10.167 (talk • contribs)
- Comment: Well the original author of this article listed her as a Canadian actress [2] changed to Canadian/American actress here and later changed to American actress, from what I found about Meg Tilly is that she was born in British Columbia, Canada, the Notable Names Database list her Nationality as "United States" [3] , her sister Jennifer Tilly said in an interview (about herself) "I was born in Harbor City, California, and when I was in sixth grade we moved back to Canada. I kind of consider myself a Canadian, but I'm an American citizen." [4] birth place doesn't alway mean citizenship, with that said she may have dual citizenship but I been unable to find a source. ▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 03:07, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- It is amusing to see all this emotion on something none of you have the facts straight on. Here is the story that I know from personal acquaintance with her. Meg was born in the USA. Did most of her growing up in Canada. She eventually became a naturalized Canadian citizen. For many years she had dual citizenship. Then a few years back she gave up her US citizenship. So now she is Canadian, but was born in the USA.
Fair use rationale for Image:Aogod2.jpg
Image:Aogod2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Addition of Chinese Ancestry
MT's father is/was Chinese-American. Her birth surname was Chan. If I add a reference to ethnicity in the bottom box, should I describe MT as Chinese-American? Thanks. Mrs. Peel (talk) 08:49, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Update needed
I don't dispute that she retired in the mid-90s "in order to raise her children and write," but the fact that she has a recurring role on the TV series Caprica surely indicates that she is no longer retired? 12.233.146.130 (talk) 16:15, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
