Seeking Medical Advice edit

Talk: medial collateral ligament

-i have ruptured both my ACL and PCL i have also sustained a grade 3 tear in my MCL,can any one please let me know my best options. My surgeon has left me to "heal" for well over 12 weeks and he is now talking of not doing any reconstruction at all, should i take this action or damand surgery as i am (at least was) both a compettive skiier and horse rider. --Amybabes71 22:04, 06 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

For future reference, Wikipedia articles aren't the place to seek advice about injuries to a location. A better thing to do would be to contact a doctor or an expert. Wikipedia is neither. Please see Wikipedia:Medical disclaimer. Thanks! Pianostar9 (talk) 16:02, 25 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Treatment: Crystal Ball? edit

Does the following sentence in the treatment section count as a Crystal Ball statement? "The future of non-surgical care for a non-healing MCL injury with laxity (partial ligament tear) is likely bioengineering." --Abbaroodle (talk) 08:30, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

It might. I have added a citation needed to this claim, but not many people visit this page! Pianostar9 (talk) 16:04, 25 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Language edit

"slightly posterior on the medial side of the knee joint" come again? Wouldn't "slightly back on the inside of the knee joint" be easier for people to understand? OR "slightly posterior on the medial side (side closest to the other knee) of the knee joint" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.6.42.127 (talk) 01:30, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

This isn't exactly an easy to understand article. Take this, for example. "Embryologically and phylogenically, the ligament represents the distal portion of the tendon of adductor magnus muscle. In lower animals, adductor magnus inserts into the tibia. Because of this, the ligament occasionally contains muscle fibres. This is an atavistic variation." Regardless, some of this has been fixed. Pianostar9 (talk) 16:13, 25 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Why the Funk is the image with the lateral ligament facing us, but not the medial? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.208.139.31 (talk) 17:55, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
