Venus cycle
The Maya studied the cycles of all of the visible heavenly bodies, but these were not part of the calendar. The Venus cycle is not part of the calendar. There is an article being started about Maya astronomy. Shouldn't the text of this section be moved to the Maya astronomy article and replaced with a general statement that the Maya were astronomers and a link to the Maya astronomy article?
