Talk:Master of Advanced Study

Why the distinction from the "European Degree"

edit

From the description there is no meaningful difference I can see between the M.A.S. Master of Advanced Study and MAS Master of Advanced Studies. Both are post-graduate professional degrees. Both are typically interdisciplinary and for working professionals. Primary difference seems to be the title whether it is "Study" or "Studies".

Also the University of Cambridge, located in the United Kingdom, is included in the list of universities that offer this "North American Degree".

I suggest that the two articles should be merged. Jawadbek (talk) 14:39, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

On further investigation I also found that the University of California in San Diego is offering multiple Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) degrees. See MAS Wireless Embedded Systems MAS Clinicial Research MAS Marine Biodiversity and Conservation MAS Health Law. The UCSD registration page lists 9 current Master of Advanced Studies degrees available. Jawadbek (talk) 15:18, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
