Length of Marriott's Way?
Marriot's Way is advertised as 26 miles long, however it appears to be shorter measured with a GPS receiver Using Google Earth comes up with a length of 24.3 miles, this is with 85 data points so less precise than the GPS data and probably therefore shorter slightly.
It looks like at least the first two 'mileposts' are on Openstreetmap, but I can't say if the error is a result of a single error between two points or a slow drift along the route as I've not compared all the data. Taking a VERY brief look at the data leaving Norwich mapping via Google Earth again and Openstreetmap, it suggests that the 2 mile post is the wrong side of the Hellesdon Road/Marlpit lane. It should be approximately at Hellesdon Station, where the exiting platform is. The error is about 0.1 miles at this point. On that basis, the assumption would be that each 'milepost' is too close together and the errors are cumulative.
The Wikipedia page seems to be correct as it states that it is "24.6 miles (39.5 km)" in length. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samwhite59 (talk • contribs) 13:31, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
